What makes a hero?

Recognize us?

We’re Super Heroes!

Super-heroes! What makes them heroes? Super-powers Huge muscles Awesome costumes Changing colors Ability to fly They get dates More ideas?

But… They only exist in movies, comic books, television shows, and make-believe worlds… Do we have real life heroes today?

Before we meet some real-life heroes, let’s talk. WHAT MAKES SOMEONE A HERO?

Characteristics of a hero Bravery Inner Strength Honesty Sense of Justice Willing to make personal sacrifices Loyalty to ideals Helpfulness to others

What other characteristics might a person need in order to be a hero?

What makes someone a hero? The choices they make What happens to them How they respond to setbacks/challenges The effects of their actions
