LT. Cunningham’s Class This week in: We are learning: Reading: We are starting a figurative language unit. The students are going to learn About similies, metaphors, onomatopoeia, alliteration, and more. We will be using short Stories and warm up activities – no stories from the book. Math: Two groups finished their chapters very quickly!! We are now working on equivalent/improper fractions, fractions and decimals, and customary measurement. They are really moving! Economics: We are still working on a project for Entrepreneur Day. The kids will create a product, advertise for it, and sell it on Entrepreneur Day. This will teach them a lot about budgeting, advertising, target audience, and profit/loss. Important Reminders News We will be doing ISTEP testing Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday starting at 9 am. Please make sure your child returns the field day shirt by May 18th No spelling or HW this week due to ISTEP Charlie/Delta Field Trip and Music Performance is May 3rd Week of April 30 to May 4 ccunningham@goapa.org

If they get all of the words on the pretest correct, then they don’t have to take a post test and will work on challenge words. Fridays are spelling test days and the results will be sent home either that day or Monday. You can also go online to see your student’s scores on activities and tests!
