For hundreds of years after the Huns, India was divided into smaller kingdoms that constantly fought with each other, experienced droughts, floods, famine, and diseases that killed thousands.

Remember Constantinople?

Once a beautiful and impenetrable city, Constantinople was divided into many smaller kingdoms.

Babur the Tiger was ruler of one of the kingdoms Babur the Tiger was ruler of one of the kingdoms. He was a direct descendent of Genghis Khan.

Genghis Khan That’s my boy!

Babur lost his kingdom in Constantinople.

GRRRRRrrrrrr!!!

Babur wandered the east looking for a new home.

Babur decided to take Delhi for himself, and although he didn’t have as many soldiers, he was able to defeat the Indians because his army had guns and cannons.

Four years after conquering Delhi, Babur the Tiger died.

Humayan, the eldest son of Babur, became emperor.

Not long after coming to the throne, he was overthrown by invaders. GRRRRRrrrrrr!!!

Humayan spent 15 years trying to get the throne back, and finally succeeded.

A year later, Humayan slipped on the steps of his library, hit his head, and died.

His 13-year old son, Akbar, became emperor.

He was young, but he was determined to reconquer the land his father lost.

He gets that from MY side of the family! After gaining those lands back, he added even more cities to his empire. He gets that from MY side of the family!
