Tiananmen Square Facts Tiananmen Square is a large plaza located in the center of Beijing City. Covers an area of 440,000 square meters. Named after Tiananmen Gate. Where Mao Zedong declares the Peoples Republic of China on October 1St, 1949.

Forbidden city Facts The Forbidden City is located in Beijing just beyond Tiananmen Gate. Covers an area of over 720,000 square miles. Has over 8,700 wooden rooms. The Purple City. Facing South. Served as the Imperial Palace for 5 centuries, and home to 24 Emperors.
