CAREER READINESS INDICATOR Ensures that all students have access to career exploration and preparation activities that are standards-aligned and evidence-based Percent of students who demonstrate meaningful engagement in career exploration and preparation and implementation of individualized career plans through separate, specific measures based on grade-level benchmarks aligned to the PA CEW Standards Percentage of students who by the end of grades 5, 8, 11 demonstrate engagement in career exploration and preparation aligned to the PA CEW Standards By the end of 8th grade, all students must have established an individualized career plan

DATA REPORTING & MONITORING By the end of grade 5, the student has produced six or more pieces of evidence, or at least two pieces of evidence accumulated by the end of grade 3, and at least two pieces of evidence each year in grade 4 and grade 5. Evidence must meaningfully address all four strands of the PA CEW Standards By the end of grade 8, the student has a career portfolio containing the K-5 grade band evidence and an additional six pieces of evidence, or at least two pieces of addition evidence in each of the following: grade 6, 7 & 8. Evidence must meaningfully address all four strands of the PA CEW Standards. Once piece of evidence must be the student’s individualized career plan. By the end of grade 11, the student has a career portfolio containing both the K-5 and 6-8 grade band evidence, and an additional eight pieces of evidence, or at least two pieces of evidence each year, collected in the following: grade 9, 10, 11. At least two pieces of evidence must directly relate to the implementation of the student’s individualized career plan.

DATA REPORTING & Monitoring 2018-2019 and forward This year’s current fourth grade class will be the first class to be required to achieve the total of 20 pieces of evidence (2 pieces this year, 6 pieces at the end of the 2018-2019 school year, 6 additional pieces by the end of the 8th grade and 8 additional pieces by the end of 11th grade). Information continues to be forthcoming

EVIDENCE Not all students have the same piece of evidence Individualized to student interests and learning styles, transition plans for students in special education programs, activities/instruction for English Learners, CTE programs and in online learning and alternative placements. Statewide assessment monitoring will verify the data reported and/or grade level artifacts

Schoology: Courses created for each grade level outlining activities in each strand Schoology: Create individual portfolios to house student artifacts Utilizing current practices Cross referencing current activities with the curriculum Completing a gap analysis Creating opportunities for individualization Ongoing development
