MOCK TEST 10 (2012-13) DETAILED ANALYSIS

Expected time to complete Introduction Mock Test 10 follows the CLAT pattern wherein the students are subjected to the same level of difficulty both in terms of question type and level. The mock test comprises of five sections with a total of 200 questions. A student is expected to attempt this test in an actual test like environment wherein he has 120 minutes to complete the test and thus need to schedule his/her time accordingly. English This section was of moderate level of difficulty. The section consisted of: 1 Reading Comprehension passage with 10 questions 5 questions on Foreign language phrases 5 questions on idioms 3 questions on identifying parts of speech 3 questions on correct spelling 4 Fill in the Blanks questions 5 questions on synonyms 5 questions on Para jumbles

At least 2 of the 3 questions should have been attempted. 27 to 30 Fill in the Blanks Easy to Moderate The questions were fairly easy and 3 out of 4 could have been attempted. 31 to 35 Vocabulary - Synonyms The synonyms asked were of a moderate difficulty level and 3 out of 5 should have been a good attempt. 36 to 40 Para Jumbles The questions were slightly difficult and 2 out of 5 would be a good attempt.

General Knowledge The GK section comprised 50 questions in all and the overall the test was of moderate level of difficulty. The test is divided into two sections: I) Static GK: Like the previous mock here less emphasis has been given on Static GK. 23 questions are from Static GK. This section was of moderate level of difficulty. II) Current GK: Current GK section comprises 27 questions and while analysing the Current GK, we find that the highest no. of questions is from International events, personalities and awards. This section was of moderate level of difficulty.

All 3 questions should have been attempted. 126 to 128 Cause and Effect The questions required a careful reading of the statements to correctly infer the answer. Q. 128 was a little tricky.

Q. 142 and 144 had close options and required careful reading. Q 141 was tricky. Q. 140 and 143 could have been easily answered. 145, Blood Relation Getting the useful information was necessary to answer the question. 146, 147, Series Moderate If the logic behind series was clear in first look then it should be attempted otherwise should be ideally left. 148-150 Analytical Reasoning Arranging information was needed to solve the question

Legal Aptitude This section had 50 questions on Legal Aptitude comprising of both Legal Reasoning as well as Legal Knowledge. The section consisted of: • Legal Reasoning (30 questions) • Legal Knowledge (20 questions) Overall, the section was of Moderate difficulty level. The Legal Reasoning section specifically tested the ability of students to understand and interpret the legal principles and application of the same to the factual matrix to reach the best answer. And, in order to answer the questions based on Legal Knowledge, students were expected to have some basic knowledge of various concepts under Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Law of Contracts and further to be acquainted with general legal principles.
