The overall aims of the project The overall objective of the BONUS BASMATI project is to develop integrated and innovative solutions for MSP from the local to the Baltic Sea Region scale through multi-level governance structures and interactive information technology aiming at developing an ecologically and socio-economically sound network of protected marine areas covering the Baltic Sea. 12/01/2019 BONUS BASMATI – www.bonusbasmati.eu

Baltic Explorer What is Baltic Explorer? An innovative multichannel decision-support system providing access to data and information through interactive web-map and multi-touch display user interfaces and advanced tools for impact assessment and stakeholder involvement in the decision-making process 12/01/2019 BONUS BASMATI – www.bonusbasmati.eu

Cumulative Impact Assessment - 1 Aims at embedding the tool into the well-known DPSIR framework to facilitate use of scenarios and analysing the effects of different spatial planning actions Aims at being used at stakeholder events – requires high performance computing 12.1.2019 BONUS BASMATI – www.bonusbasmati.eu

Case studies 12.1.2019 BONUS BASMATI – www.bonusbasmati.eu

Cumulative Impact Assessment - 2 The system will support handling of several case studies simultaneously with there own specific data and sensitivity matrices Innovative tools for visualising and comparing inputs and results 12.1.2019 BONUS BASMATI – www.bonusbasmati.eu

Cumulative Impact Assessment - 3 Many supporting function for handling drivers and pressures Focus on user friendliness and easy input of data Web based system but also as a desktop version Free use and based on open source 12.1.2019 BONUS BASMATI – www.bonusbasmati.eu

Cumulative Impact Assessment Theoretical considerations We will scientifically discuss fundamental assumptions behind the CIA methods Is just adding individual impacts Linear normalization Uncertainty regarding the sensitivity matrix The season question 12.1.2019 BONUS BASMATI – www.bonusbasmati.eu
