Types of Text Selection Contiguous Selection selection of text which is located next to each other or touching in a sequence Non-Contiguous Selection selection of text which is not located next to each other or touching in a sequence

Finding Text Can be accomplished by using the Find button in the Editing group of the Home tab when clicked the Navigation Pane opens and users can type in the term or terms they would like to find in the document

Formatting Text Improves the text’s appearance and readability Can help to: enhance and emphasize text set a tone for the file Can be completed while text is selected or users can set the formatting prior to typing the text

Formatting Text Commonly includes changing or customizing the text’s: font font size font style font color Font- a complete set of characters in a specific face, style and size Font Style- the slant and weight of the characters in a font set Font Size- height of an uppercase letter in a font set; measured in points Font Color- the shade of the characters in a font set

Formatting Text Can be completed by using the: Font group on the Home tab Mini toolbar contains many of the same commands which are found in the Font group appears over selected text

Font Group Can be used to change the: font type size case style text effects highlight color Contains the Clear Formatting button which, if clicked, removes the formatting from the selected text

Format Painter Can be used to copy formatting from one location to another in a document Is located on the Home tab in the Clipboard group Requires users to: select the content with the formatting to be copied click Format Painter select the content which needs the formatting applied
