Trait A single characteristic of something that helps to define it.

Learned Acquired through experience.

Inherited Passed from parent to offspring during reproduction

Instinct Behavior that you were born with and did not have to learn.

Inherited Physical Trait A physical characteristic that an organism is born with that is passed to the organism from its parents.

Acquired Physical Trait A trait that one is not born with but that is gained due to lifestyle or environment.

Learned Behavior Animal behavior that develops from observation or instruction.
