God’s Work of Art
Journal Listen to the following song – Mirror by BarlowGirl
Journal What is the message of this song? Do you seek your value in your physical appearance? What would God say about your physical appearance?
Handout – Got the Look? Complete the handout (both sides) and be prepared to share your answers with the class.
Textbook Read and copy the three Bible passages from the text (pages 25 – 26) into your notebooks.
1 Corinthians 6:15 “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ?” Not only is our mind part of the Church, our bodies act as a vehicle for God’s works. Imagine if a group of students formed a pyramid. What would happen if one of the base people left the pyramid?
1 Corinthians 6:19 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own?” The Holy Spirit can enter into the world through our actions.
Ephesians 2:10 “We are God’s work of art, created in Christ Jesus, for the good works which God already designated to make up our way of life” God has a plan for our strengths and weaknesses.
Textbook Read “Why Me, Lord?” on pages 26 – 27. Thoughts?
Journal Write a one page reflection about being grateful for the body you have. OR Choose a person who would not be considered beautiful by social standards and write about how this person is beautiful.
