Survey of booktalkers: suggestions Continue to recommend new books that might be of interest to CMS residents. umm, make me less nervous? Unless you have a magic wand that erases stage fright, I think they are good as is. The time commitment is definitely substantial, so it would have been nice to get more off-desk time to work on my book talks, but that's probably not possible. Have booktalkers complete a short report following each visit that gets shared with other booktalkers so that we get to share experiences and best practices, as well as titles/authors they are really interested in.

Survey of booktalkers: suggestions I would like to see the previously talked books include the blurbs on the sheets handed to students. This would help me make better selections. I would also like to see the time between when a book was talked and when it is talked again shortened -- maybe 4 months? This is such a great program--I hope that it continues despite lower numbers of students at the school. I can't think of anything to improve the experience other than keep it going! Have boys and girls separate.

Survey of booktalkers: suggestions Scheduling the visits can be complicated--we have had to reschedule multiple times. Making the CHs school calendar available to booktalkers would help Hard to say, given the changes that have taken place there. Making sure that there is a permanent teacher present, who knows the drill and is participating, is critical. My visit this year would have been a complete disaster had the teachers not been fully present. My visit a few years ago did not fare so well--the teacher was "present" but not fully engaged. Can't think of anything. It's pretty darned good as is!

Survey of CHS residents

Survey of CHS residents

Survey of CHS residents What do you like MOST about the booktalks you have seen? the people make the book sound good Every time they come they have a different book and there are such a wide variety that i absolutely love the way they described the books they help me understand what the book is about they talk about all the books i was interested

Survey of CHS residents What do you like LEAST about the booktalks you have seen? nothing at all really. Just the residents interrupting the speakers. that you can’t get them the same day half the books don't look good its not short and sweet by the point how long they are when it ends
