ARRIVAL TO CLASS Greet your teacher Make sure you have all necessary materials for the class. Place your HW on your desk, be seated quietly, and begin “Hazlo Ahora”.

RIGHT AFTER THE BELL RINGS As soon as you get in the classroom, work on your warm-up exercise. It is the “Hazlo Ahora” assignment on the Smartboard each class. When you finish, wait quietly for the next direction.

Whole class INSTRUCTION “Dame cinco” Eyes facing forward, and listen to the teacher with full attention. No pencil sharpening, writing, talking, or whispering during instruction. Ask permission to speak by raising your hand. After instruction, make sure you understand the concept.

GENERAL CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS Respect others personal space including not touching others. Be respectful of everyone and everything. Allow others to finish speaking before you start speaking. When someone enters the classroom continue working quietly and follow all classroom rules and procedures.

CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE ● Use the target language for everything. ● Our class time is limited! When possible, refrain from asking to leave. ● Participate ● During a school-wide announcement, stop talking and listen carefully. ●Be polite to any guest. ● In the event a substitute teacher is leading the class, follow instructions and be courteous.

Assignments Record all assignments and assessments Use proper heading : FULL NAME, date, grade, block # and day, and assignment TITLE. Questions ? Ask the teacher in class, EEE, or email. Assignments must be turned in on time. Assignments should be completed in BLUE or BLACK ink only. Some assignments can also be typed.

AbsencesAL It is the responsibility of the student to make up missed assignments and assessments in a timely manner. Students should meet with the teacher Extra help and make up assignments/assessments can be done before school or during EEE by appointment only.

Emergency Procedures Fire Alarm: STOP. Silently line up at the door to exit the building with your class. Safe School/Lockdown: STOP, and wait for teacher or administrator instructions. Emergency Illness & Bathroom: If you urgently need to see the nurse or use the bathroom, wave to the teacher and immediately leave. You may explain upon your return.

Ending Class Remember: the teacher dismisses the class, not the clock or the students! Before leaving class, put away all classroom and personal materials. Say goodbye to your teacher and classmates in the target language. When dismissed, quietly exit and move to your next class.
