Review of NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development Introduction to how to use for planning purposes Aligned with Pre-Service Checklist (LE teachers) Review of developmental domains 8 Modules Moodle (DCDEE) Certificate following completion From Moodle 1.5 CEU

Intermediate Course 2018-19 WHO? REQUIRED course for- ALL teachers in year 1 of EESLPD service ALL teachers (year 2 or beyond) who have completed modules 1-6 of Advanced Course, in a previous year Any teacher not rated proficient on Standard 3 of Summary Rating Form after completion of Advanced Course Not REQUIRED course for- Teachers who have completed modules 1-11 of Advanced Course Optional course for- Any teacher who would benefit from a single module or complete course refresher , as determined by the team

Advanced Course 2018-19 Advanced understanding of how to support the social and emotional development of young children through the use of universal strategies (TIER I) Supports teacher’s use of the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development for recognizing and planning for individual learning and development strengths and needs 11 Modules Moodle (DCDEE) Certificate following completion From Moodle Credit varies by module

Advanced Course 2018-19 WHO? Individualized course for- ALL teachers who have completed the Intermediate Course (year 2 of service and beyond) Modules chosen for completion are based upon individual strengths and needs of each teacher, as determined by the team (plan, PDP) Limit 3 modules per year Teacher completes the Instructional Practices Checklist (T) Mentor may complete the Instructional Practices Checklist (O) for LE/SPI teachers Evaluators may complete the Instructional Practices Checklist (O) for SPII teachers Any teacher who has completed Intermediate Course AND Advanced Course who would benefit from a module refresher , as determined by the team

Mentors Provide INTERMEDIATE COURSE Instruction Guide and *classroom-based mentor support to all LE/SPI teachers in year 1 of EESLPD service all LE/SPI teachers who completed ADVANCED COURSE modules 1-6 during last program year Any LE/SPI teacher not rated proficient on Standard 3 of Summary Rating Form (2017-18) who has completed Advanced Course Any LE/SPI teacher who has previously completed ALL ADVANCED COURSE modules (1-11) who would benefit from the INTERMEDIATE COURSE, as determined by the team Provide ADVANCED COURSE Instruction Guide and *classroom-based mentor support to Any LE/SPI teacher who has previously completed ALL ADVANCED COURSE modules (1-11) and needs a refresher from the ADVANCED COURSE, as determined by the team Support LE teachers through completion of Pre-Service Checklist *Includes Instructional Practices Checklists (O)
