Europe at a glance 2nd smallest continent (size-wise) *Only Australia is smaller 3rd most populated continent (Asia #1, Africa #2) The continent of Europe is named after Europa who was a beautiful young princess in Greek mythology. Home to the biggest country in the world (Russia) and the smallest country in the world. (Vatican City)

Some Europe History Alexander the Great conquered and spread the culture of Greek. Bubonic Plague/Black Death- Killed millions of people in Europe in mid 1300’s. European exploration- Some explorers were: Bartholomeu Dias, Vaso de Gama, Christopher Columbus Couple of famous people who weren’t liked by many: Adolf Hitler, Napoleon Bonaparte World War 1 and World War 2 greatly affected many areas of Europe. Main goal of the Marshall Plan was to help rebuild Europe after World War 2.
