Types of Honors Level Courses in NC A B C D D LEA Locally Developed Honors Courses - use Honors Rubric for local review but not part of NCDPI portfolio review process Inherently Honors (Standards written at a more rigorous and higher level) Honors By Proficiency (Arts & World Languages – higher levels are Inherently Honors) LEA Honors Portfolio Review Process (courses at a standard level that you would like to offer at an honors level) We can think of the Honors Level Courses in NC in three buckets: All are to follow the criteria outlined in the Honors Rubric and Honors Implementation Guide; however only Bucket C will undergo the Honors Portfolio Review process.
