July 24th Revolution Day -Not Similar to any holiday in the US, it would probably be a holiday in the south if they would have one the civil war.

May 20th Cubas Independence Day Similar to US’s independence day, it is the day the Cuba got independence from Spain.

Christmas Christmas is allowed in Cuba as of 1997, it was banned before by the Castro Regime. Christmas is very similar in Cuba but they have different foods such as pig and fried plantanes.

Cuban Avocado Moose “Muselina de Aguacate” Unlike the guacamole common to Mexican restaurants in the US and Mexico, Cuban mousse has a Jell-O type consistency. Although some may serve it with chips, typically you would serve it as an appetizer paired with shrimp or prawns.

Ajiaco Cubano – Cuban Stew The origins of this stew have long been debated. But what we do know is that Cubans have been eating ajiaco since the 1500's. It’s similar to the US comfort dish “Pot Roast”.

Cuban Arroz con Pollo - “Chicken and Rice” One of the most beloved of chicken dishes in Cuba, Arroz con Pollo can make any meal special. The rice for this dish is short-grained Valencia-style rice, the same as used for Paella, another of the wonderful Spanish dishes that have found a home in many of the Latin American Countries.

Cuban Sandwhich - “Cuban” A simple yet powerful sandwich consisting of Ham, Roasted Pork, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, yellow mustard, on a hard crusted Cuban bread. This sandwich is eaten all over the world including the US, although some make variations adding Mayonnaise etc.

guava There are two variations of the Guava the apple and original. The guava can be eaten whole and or in a liquid form similar to the US’ apple or orange juice.
