Our Big Seminar Successes: More involvement with our sponsors – Innovation, Experimentation & Risk to planning & execution! Seminar Event: Lunchtime “Speed Networking” event – Attendees present Platinum or Gold Sponsor with question & vigorous discussion ensues! Great mixer! “Speed Networking” – Highly rated on evaluations!

More Big Successes: Marketing - Purchase of promotional ARMA NOVA signage (It’s branded exhibit ware) for booths at conferences & conventions Marketing – Branding snacks for distribution at DGI (Digital Govt Institute) and other events – Examples: ARMA NOVA – “Champions for Records Mgt & Info Governance! Check out our great programs at arma-nova.org” - ARMA NOVA – “Feed your CRM & IGP Cred! Check out our great programs at arma-nova.org”

Successes: But making lemonade… More time with our Training Futures community partner – Inviting trainees to join us for events (and to eat the food we cannot, due to falling numbers!) Implemented STAR CHAPTER within the last year & a half – We’re still learning the capabilities, our EXECUTION could be stronger using features Our numbers are dwindling – As high as 102 in June 2014, only 59 members today. We’re small but mighty… We used technology to promote ourselves – LinkedIn, list serve, email, website, and… TWITTER - 518 tweets last year, 105 followers!

Challenges: Forcing us to make lemonade Lost our beloved venue (location, location, location) at Clyde’s of Tysons Corner – CLOSED suddenly with only days to go before our monthly contracted event! Temporary space at country club one month… Restaurant search, striking contract, conducting two meetings – then phased NEW MANAGEMENT, new contract required, new events planner, new chef!

Challenges: The Big Conundrum Falling Membership Falling Participation in monthly events & seminar Venue Contract Risk >> Our out-go $ overtaking our income Searching for root cause: –relevant programming? -need a fresher format? (Not dinner meetings?) -expense/competition for $ to maintain continuing credits? -complicated time & travel? -not enough marketing? -ways to reach & involve younger professionals?
