SWOT Analysis Jeromie Winsor Josh Bocks Brad Strader

SWOT Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Strengths Out-of-County Places Where Livingston Residents are Employed Livingston County’s proximity to major cities creates transit markets for outbound trips. Flint MTA Regional Routes to Livingston County serve a growing market of transit users from outside the County. LETS’ established presence in Livingston County makes it a widely recognized brand among County residents. Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Strengths Established partnerships in Livingston County enable education, advocacy, and engagement around transit. LETS’ services are utilized and valued by a base of recurring customers. Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Urbanized Areas in Livingston County Weaknesses Urbanized Areas in Livingston County Livingston County is a large service area with several difficult-to-reach locations. Limited understanding of the services that LETS offers prevents people from using them. Transit service is hindered by Livingston County’s limited number of walkable, transit-oriented destinations. Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Weaknesses Current transit capacity in Livingston County is insufficient to meet the level of demand. Scheduling a LETS trip is currently inconvenient. Multimodal transportation options for Livingston County residents are limited, contributing to difficult and dangerous movement around the County for those who do not drive. Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Opportunities Increased population and employment density as well as increased congestion on major routes may improve transit viability in Livingston County. Improved coordination among transit providers may better serve Livingston residents and workers. Transit usage may be promoted through marketing, new transit facilities, and new transit services. Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Opportunities Improved trip reservation, scheduling, routing, and dispatching may increase the user-friendliness and capacity of transit in Livingston County. Improving multimodal transportation options in Livingston County would contribute to improved livability and spur economic development. Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Threats Propensity for Transit Usage (dark = high, light = low) Varying levels of transit demand and support throughout the County as well as uncertainty around funding stability and sufficiency may complicate the pursuit of transit improvements. Infrastructure gaps and continued growth in difficult-to-reach areas may limit the ability to provide transit services in Livingston County. Livingston County Transit Master Plan

Commuter Transportation for Livingston Residents Threats Continued auto dependency and limited multimodal transportation options threaten Livingston County’s livability and economic vitality. Commuter Transportation for Livingston Residents Livingston County Transit Master Plan
