We are gathered here today to celebrate the long life of our beloved word, “It”. From the beginning of the English language to the 8th of December, “It” has lived an extremely long life. He is survived by his beloved family, including: his wife, Thing; his daughter, That; and his son, This. “It” was always around during times I had to make difficult decisions. He was there when I “wanted to go to it” or when “I needed to complete it”. He was spoken of quite frequently in my household. We will miss him immensely, but he has lived a long, fulfilling life and now it is time to say “it” goodbye.
