Design 1 Understand: The importance of design ideas in relation to your final piece and assessment objectives Know: How to produce successful design ideas through links to artists, materials and theme Think about types of materials, construction, composition, methods, size, scale, and equipment needed. What artist/s does this design link to? Do: Create your design idea, at least A5-A4 in size depending on amount (series or individual piece) Think about specialist textile techniques you will need to use: Stitch: Layering & Stitch- machine work Manipulation: Slashing and burning, pleated fabrics, texture, painting Printed Textiles: manual or digital repeat patterns or designs, printed off and worked into Fashion: Garments from charity shops or paper made corsets Mixed Media: Transferring imagery, cut out paper & embellishment Photography: Transferring photos using freezer paper or transfer paper on top of textured or manipulated backgrounds Stitch Manipulation Printed Textiles Fashion Mixed Media 11th Nov??
