Our Goals Essential Questions Objectives Where were Africans enslaved in the Americas? What were the long- and short-term consequences of slavery, and how is this different from its intended purpose? SWBAT: Explain the encomienda system through a primary source analysis to evaluate how systems of forced labor were created and evolved under colonial rule SWBAT Map the Trans- Atlantic Slave Trade in order to assess the short- and long- term effects of the institution of slavery on the Old and New World.
