Benefits- Types of Insurance Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription High Deductible Plans/Health Savings Account (HSA) High deductible health plans (HDHPs) have much lower premiums but high deductibles, co insurance and out of pocket maximums. In this model, the individual assumes all medical costs until the minimum deductible is met. Being covered by an HDHP is also a requirement for having a health savings account. Benefits- 401K You are able to contribute on a tax deferred basis up to the statutory maximum limit ($18,500 for 2018, and if you are over age 50 you can also contribute an additional $6,000 as a catch-up contribution for a total of $24,500).
