Europe along The Danube River
Danube River is Europes second longest river after the Volga. It is classified as an international waterway. The river originates in the Black Forest in Germany as the much smaller Brigachand Breg rivers which join at the German town of Donaueschingen. After that it is known as the Danube and flows southeastward for a distance of some 2850 km passing through four Central and Eastern Europeancapitals, before emptying into the Black Sea via the Danube Delta in Romania and Ukraine.
Origin of the river Danube. The place where two small rivers (Breg and Brigach) unite to form the Danube in Donaueschingen, Germany. The German name of the place is Donauzusammenfluss, meaning "Danube confluence.
The Danube Bend is a curve of the Danube in Hungary, near the city of Visegrád. The Transdanubian Mountain lie on the right bank (left side of the picture), while the North Hungarian Mountains on the left bank (right side of the picture).
