What is Jazz Music? Jazz Music is a world music that draws from many musical cultures involving advanced rhythms, harmonies, and improvisation, as well as the idea of making your instrument an extension of your own voice. It originated in the early 20th Century in African-American communities in the Southern USA.

Questions for thought…. What instruments are typically associated with Jazz Music? When you think of Jazz Music what person comes to your mind first?
