Several key insights led to Darwin’s idea for natural selection.
Selective Breeding or Artificial Selection.
 What does domestic mean?  Domestic: no longer wild, but has been bred or tamed by humans.  What are some other reasons why domestic animals are important.
ARTIFICIAL SELECTION. 2 Occurs when people (not nature) select individuals with desirable traits to mate and produce offspring with these traits This.

The influence of humans on the next generation Artificial Selection The influence of humans on the next generation

Selective Breeding The selection of certain seeds or animals for reproduction in order to influence the traits inherited by the next generation.

Aqua-Culture Aqua farmers raise what was once wild species and breed them to create heavier, meatier products for our table. How would like this shrimp fried or steamed? YUM YUM

Agriculture Farmers have bred plants for 7,000 years The ability to bred plants have helped curb world hunger. This makes farms more profitable Where does your produce come from in the winter months?

Dog Breeds, there are literally thousands of dog breeds all with one common ancestor, canuis lupis

Pets, even reptiles Snakes especially pythons, are bred for certain color/patterns to make them unique. A one of a kind pet. They do this with corn snakes too!

How it happens…
