File naming conventions Creative Media Pre-production File naming conventions Understand the importance of properly organising files Suggest appropriate names for files

Creative Media Pre-production Naming conventions When saving files on a computer, it is important they are given suitable file names.

Creative Media Pre-production Naming conventions Why is this?

Creative Media Pre-production Naming conventions This is important to ensure information can be easily found, edited and used later.

Creative Media Pre-production Naming conventions When files are transferred from a digital camera or phone they often have inappropriate file names.

Creative Media Pre-production Naming conventions If these were being used for a media production, a magazine for example, you would need to ensure they are renamed to ensure they can be used easily later.

Creative Media Pre-production Naming conventions How could this folder be better organised to improve access to appropriate files?

This structure makes it much easier to find the file you want. Creative Media Pre-production Naming conventions This structure makes it much easier to find the file you want.

Creative Media Pre-production Version Control When designing pre-production documents, it is a good idea to periodically save different versions of your work. If the client does not like the changes, you can then go back to the previous version.

Creative Media Pre-production Version Control This would be an appropriate way of naming these files using a versions system. Naming files this way will eliminate confusion with older versions of the file.
