Does Assessing Patients' Expectancies About Chemotherapy Side Effects Influence Their Occurrence?  Ben Colagiuri, PhD, Haryana Dhillon, PhD, Phyllis N. Butow, PhD, Jesse Jansen, PhD, Keith Cox, RN, Onc Cert, NP, MNursPrac, Jeralyn Jacquet, BA (Psych)  Journal of Pain and Symptom Management  Volume 46, Issue 2, Pages 275-281 (August 2013) DOI: 10.1016/j.jpainsymman.2012.07.013 Copyright © 2013 U.S. Cancer Pain Relief Committee Terms and Conditions

Fig. 1 a) Occurrence (%), b) covariate-adjusted severity (mean±SE), and c) covariate-adjusted EORTC QLQ-C30 subscale score (mean±SE) for each side effect across expectancy assessment. No differences were statistically significant, indicating that assessing expectancies did not affect side effect occurrence or severity.
