Tendon Tendons attach bones to muscle
Axial Skeleton The axial skeleton is made up of the skull, the ribs, the breastbone, and the vertebral column
Appendicular Skeleton The appendicular skeleton is the hands, feet, legs, hips, shoulders. There are 126 bones in the appendicular skeleton
Cartilage Cartilage is a hard jelly like substance that forms your nose and ears
Marrow Marrow is the soft material found in the middle of bones
Muscular System Muscles always work in pairs. In order for skeletal muscles to move, they must contract or shorten.
Skeletal Muscle Skeletal muscle contracts and allows your arms, legs, head and other body parts to move.
Smooth Muscle Smooth muscle is involuntary. That means that smooth muscle can contract without you causing them to. These are found in your large and small intestines.
Cardiac Muscle Cardiac muscle is found only in the heart. It is also an involuntary muscle.
