PLEASURE SATISFACTION MEANING CONNECTEDNESS

Happiness Unhappiness Pain Frustration Meaning - Meaningless Pleasure - Pain Satisfaction - Frustration Meaning - Meaningless Connectedness - Alienation

Basic Genetic Developmental Needs - Place - Nurturance - Support Protection Loving Limits

Basic Need Requirements 1.) They are hardwired into our system genetically and our system knows what is required from another in order to be met. 2.) They must first be met literally/concretely and then symbolically. 3.) They must be met in interaction at the right age, at the right time, in the right kinship relationship. 4.) No matter how old we get, our soul is always searching for completion of these needs.

3 CATEGORIES OF MEMORIES OF UNMET NEEDS Tier 1 – Memory of Deficits Too little of their basic needs are not satisfied in the right way, at the right time, or in the right kinship relationship.

Tier 2 – Memory of Trauma Too much coming in when the child is not emotionally, physically, or psychologically able to handle it.

Tier 3 – Memory of Holes in Roles Too much going out too soon. When a child experiences gaps, injustices, or unhappiness in his/her family network (the hole) and unconsciously tries to heal the problem. (the role)

The Four Developmental Tasks Integration of Polarities Development of Consciousness Development of Pilot Knowing Our Own Uniqueness

Pilot That mental ability to co-ordinate all the emotional, sensory, motor, and cognitive processes and not just observe it, but to make decision based on that co-ordination. All therapeutic contracts are made with the Pilot.

Stages of a Structure Stage 1 Stage 3 Stage 2 Stage 4 1.) Contract with the Pilot to bring the work to a “good end.” 2.) Provide a safe, open non-judgmental environment (Possibility Sphere) 3.) Follow clients present conscious moment-to-moment identifying affect and thoughts. Stage 3 1.) Create an experience with Ideal figures who would have met those needs back in history. Stage 2 1.) Uncover Memories of Unmet Needs 2.) Externalize those memories 3.) Identify what was missing Stage 4 1.) Integrate the New Experience 2.) Record in Memory & Body 3.) Make new memory more in line with True Self
