What is a verb? A verb can show or express action All sentences contain a verb The lion roars. The lion runs. The lion sleeps.

Basic Verb Tenses You are all Time- Travelers! Past Present Future (Then) (Now) (Later) I walked I walk I will walk

The Present Tense What is happening right now! I eat a candy (right now). Jean doesn’t want to play (right now). The water is chilly (right now). Timmy is watching TV (right now).

The Past Tense - ED Everything that already happened! I walk to the store : NOW – Present I walked to the store: EARLIER – Past - ED Jump – Jumped Talk – Talked Close – Closed
