Secretary of State Voter Registration Election Management System PCC Project Status Voter Registration Election Management System (VREMS) vvPartnerships

VREMS Project Status The Secretary of State with the County Clerk's Oversight Committee enhanced the New Mexico Voter Transfer functionality in the Voter Registration Election Management System. This enhancement allows County Clerks to verify registered voter information of individuals claiming residency in New Mexico. It allows them to ensure registered voters are only voting in their respective county. Election Systems and Software (ES&S) implemented this new function to the State of New Mexico Voter Registration Election Management System.

Online Availability of VREMS VREMS does not have online availability due to the sensitivity and security of the voter information it contains. Voter View is provided as a online convenience for a voter to confirm their current voter registration information.

Research on alternative systems The current VREMS is HAVA compliant and is utilized by New Mexico County Clerks.

Ongoing Items E S & S has completed the enhancement to VREMS successfully. The project funding expired the previous fiscal year of 06/30/09. The System and Data Security for the network have been evaluated to address the CaANES security evaluation contingent upon the request of DoIT.
