Reading Literature /Informational Text, Standard 9-12 Reading Literature /Informational Text, Standard 9-12.1: Cite Strong and Thorough Textual Evidence Open Mind Diagram Please print this slide show, follow the directions, and staple it to your reading response.

This can be a full or side profile. Trace Open-Mind First, create an outline of the character’s head. This can be a full or side profile.

Use three images that symbolize the character.

Brainstorm Around Image Around each image, use four brainstorm statements that captures the character’s personality and state of mind. Brainstorms must be 3 words or less --ideally, one word)

Two Citations Directly cite two examples from the text that clearly represent the character’s attitude and actions. Each example must be at least two sentences in length and parenthetically cited.
