AGENDA: Bell Work (Word Card and essays will be collected – please have those out) Group Intro Scientific Method Lecture HW

BELL WORK SCIENTIFIC METHOD PRE-TEST: Do the best you can. You have 3 songs. You will only be graded on whether it is completed or not. “IDK” or Blank is considered incomplete. If you don’t know, take a guess on what might be the best answer. We will be collecting Essay and Word Card during the pretest.

RANDOM GROUPING: Introduce yourselves. 2 similarities and differences between you and your pair. Use the white board to help you keep track of them. Get ready to introduce each other.

With a person next to you, share the objectives for today! Learning Targets: I can explain and describe what the scientific method is. Today’s Class I can find every day examples of using the scientific method. I can use the scientific method to test the claims of different products.

SCIENTIFIC METHOD:

Paper Towel Lab: In your group, come up with factors that would make a paper towel a good one. How would you test it?

SCIENTIFIC METHOD HW: Brief History of the Paper Towel. What is absorbency? What are different ways you can measure absorbency? What other factors would make paper towel the best one?

Learning Targets: In your summary section, answer the following learning targets. Don’t need to recopy them, just answer it. I can explain and describe what the scientific method is. Today’s Class I can find every day examples of using the scientific method. I can use the scientific method to test the claims of different products.

SCIENTIFIC METHOD: In your groups, use the white board to come up with an example of using the scientific method in everyday life. Make sure to list the different steps. Be creative. You will have one song. Before the song is over, decide who will talk in the group.
