History of Ministry of Youth and Sports Ministry of Youth, Culture & Sports Culture Division 2022 Welfare Department Responsible for youth Established Culture Division 1953 1972 19 yrs ! 65 yrs ! Move Culture Division to newly established Ministry of Culture, Arts & Tourism 1964 In conjunction with National Youth Day, May 15th 1964 1987 Ministry of Youth & Sports Ministry of Youth & Sports Sejarah KBS Sejarah penubuhan Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS) bermula pada tahun 1953 dengan tertubuhnya Bahagian Kebudayaan di bawah Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat yang telah diberi tanggungjawab mengenai belia. Seterusnya pada tahun 1964 Bahagian Kebudayaan ini telah dipindahkan di bawah Kementerian Penerangan. Dalam masa yang sama berikutan kegiatan belia secara berpersatuan yang semakin berkembang, maka bagi tujuan memupuk serta memantau perkembangan tersebut, Bahagian Belia telah ditubuhkan di bawah kementerian berkenaan. Selain itu di bawah Kementerian Penerangan ini juga telah ditubuhkan Bahagian Sukan.  Kementerian Belia dan Sukan hanya diwujudkan pada 15 Mei 1964 iaitu bersempena Hari Belia Negara pada tahun tersebut. Pada tahun 1972, Bahagian Kebudayaan telah diwujudkan dan dengan itu nama Kementerian Belia dan Sukan ini telah diubah kepada Kementerian Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan sehingga tahun 1987 apabila Bahagian Kebudayaan telah dipindahkan di bawah Kementerian Kebudayaan, Kesenian dan Pelancongan. Dengan perpindahan Bahagian Kebudayaan tersebut, nama Kementerian Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan telah kembali kepada nama asalnya iaitu Kementerian Belia dan Sukan, sehingga sekarang. 11 yrs ! 34 yrs !

Policy & Strategic Planning Division: Main function To plan, legislate, coordinate and monitoring the implementation of strategic policies related to youth and sports, includes Parliament, Cabinet and ministry matters. Fungsi-fungsi utama bahagian Merancang, menggubal, menyemak dan meminda perkara-perkara berkaitan dasar, akta dan pelan tindakan berkaitan belia dan sukan. Merancang dan menganalisis kajian dan pembangunan data berkaitan belia dan sukan. Merangka kerjasama dan perhubungan belia dan sukan bersama agensi kerajaan, NGO dan pihak berkepentingan meliputi: Penyelarasan dasar Penyebaran maklumat Memorandum persefahaman Menetapkan fokal bagi memberi khidmat nasihat berkaitan belia dan sukan kepada pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan. Merangka penyelarasan berkaitan urusan-urusan yang meliputi hal ehwal: Persidangan Parlimen Mesyuarat Jemaah Menteri Jawatankuasa Kabinet Mesyuarat Pos Kabinet Mesyuarat Pengurusan Tertinggi Meneliti dan memperaku perkara-perkara berkaitan supaya memenuhi piawaian dan peraturan yang berkuatkuasa. To make a success, we need a rich and vibrant community of volunteers; Under the purview of MASOC, chaired by the Minister of Youth and Sports Open to ASEAN people, M’sian & Non – M’sian; Ambassador of MASOC; 13,000 recruited & assigned to sub-committee; Registration via portal www.kualalumpur2017.com.my; Required to attend two compulsory training – general & specific; Given supports letter for unrecorded work leave, daily food allowance, Official volunteer attire, Certificate of participation, insurance, free public transportation, excluding accommodation.
