Application Information If you choose to apply to both NCSSM Residential and NCSSM Online programs, you must choose a preference. You will be reviewed for your top choice first, and if selected, you will not be reviewed for your second option. You may only receive one Finalist offer from NCSSM. You will not be automatically accepted to your second choice if you decline your first.

Application Information Awards, certificates, projects and recognitions Extracurricular, community service and volunteer activities (both in-school and out-of-school) Leadership positions and activities Other interests, talents and hobbies Please list your activities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics from 7th grade through the current term

Application Information NCSSM Residential and Online students must have a high level of maturity, whether living away from home or working daily without teachers or supervision. Please help us understand why you are mature enough to manage your own deadlines, schedule and academic interest. What drives you? What are your goals? Why is maturity important to you?

Application Information Explain why you are ready for independent learning and can function without frequent teacher interaction, in-class assignments, and reinforcement of concepts. What do you appreciate about independent learning? How do you grow from having a less hands-on teacher approach? Please list up to FOUR of your best examples of out of classroom activities that demonstrate your ability to take initiative, improve your education, or improve your community. Then explain your level of involvement and why the activity demonstrates your abilities or talents. They are looking to see how you will make an impact on their campus. They do not want someone who will just benefit without giving back. Leadership, drive, independence

Application Information We want to know why and how you are enthusiastic about learning outside of the classroom. We DON'T need a list of clubs, fee-based programs, or competitions in which you've participated. Instead, we want to know your strategy for additional learning beyond the classroom. What makes you take initiative to learn? What is your process for learning on your own?

Application Information We want to know why you are excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields of academic study. We DON'T need a list of clubs, fee-based programs, or competitions in which you've participated. We need to know why you are excited by these fields and why you believe you need to learn more about them. Where does your STEM passion come from? How do you hope to make an impact through STEM?

Application Information Both NCSSM Residential and NCSSM Online require a significant time commitment to study outside of school, in the evening and weekends while still participating in extracurricular activities and other activities. How are you going to commit and make time available for NCSSM's academic programs? How do you prioritize your time? Why do you put your academics first?

Application Information Please explain why you need to be part of the NCSSM Residential or Online academic program. Why can't your current school's resources and curriculum meet your needs? What excites you? Please explain one interesting thing about you, your family, or your community you have not told us already. You have more about you beyond your academics and academic clubs!

Application Information Please explain any family, socio-economic, personal, or academic adversities we should take into consideration in evaluating your application, your potential, or ability to participate in opportunities outside of the classroom
