Web Crawlers Web crawlers are when you write something in the search bar. So if you type ‘how many types of spiders is there’ the spiders would crawl all over the web and search any page that has the key words in. When your searching on Google your not actually searching the whole entire web your just searching Google’s search index. They search in the links of the link that you chose. They have different algorithms to chose the best one. The web crawlers get the links of links of links of links of links of links. They answer questions like how many times does it say the words? Is it in the title? Is there antonyms of the word? This is all done in about half a second!

How to use the search engine. First you chose a search engine. You don’t have to put words like ‘the in of’ because they are ignored. You just simply click the search bar and type in what you want and then the web crawlers will crawl all over the web to find any websites with the key words in. Then it will filter down the websites to do with what you are really looking for.

And + Or And + or will either expand or limit your search because say if you wanted cats and dogs it will give you just pages of cats and dogs together so it will limit your search but if you search cats or dogs it will come up with web pages of cats and dogs so that will expand it AND OR

Domain names .com,.gov,.net are all domain names, domain names are the ending to you seach normally you would use .com or .co.uk But there are many more .gov government .com company .mil Military /kids Education for kids .org organisation .co.uk British company .ac.uk academic .net Internet network provider This ad sign means that it is not the real website so don’t be fooled

Hoax and bias Bias websites are also available like RSPCA because they are against killing foxes witch is bias because some people are for it such as the fox hunting organisation are for it. Fox hunting is good because the foxes kill other animals but it is bad because killing animals in general is wrong Beware because out there in the internet there are fake sites either to get your personal information, money or just for fun some websites like dog island make themselves look really real but do not be fooled if you go down to the bottom it will show if it is copyright and most of the fake websites have disclaimer so look out for them as well.
