Presentation transcript:

Wednesday You need a graphic organizer for scoring each group and 2 blank checks. Please put everything else away – no distractions!

What to Turn In Completed Listening Graphic Organizer – in basket Completed Self and Peer Assessment – in basket Completed Checks (2) – in the voting box

Thursday Warm-Up 1) Fill out the comic strip paper with a 6-panel comic strip about what you are doing this weekend (or something else interesting, if you’re not sure). 2) The only words should be words that are in the comic strip. 3) Don’t worry about artistic ability or color.

Graphic Novels Visually annotate your notes as we go through the vocabulary terms.

Graphic Novel Reading Practice Label the different parts. Respond to each question. Remember: you read from left to right, top to bottom, just like always!

Friday 11/4 Directions Today you will work on a Persepolis background packet, to help you understand the historical context behind the story. You need to complete the ENTIRE packet. Please annotate and answer the questions throughout. Read the directions in each section. At the end, respond to the writing sections in complete sentences with thorough detail. Turn in your completed packet. It is a grade.

Monday 11/7 Directions Today you will continue gaining some background information before we read Persepolis (we will start on Wednesday, so please make sure you have the book!) First, complete the Persepolis Photo Prediction Activity. For each image, write 2-4 sentences with your thoughts, understandings, and emotions that come from viewing the image. You may consider the information you learned on Friday. Next, respond to the Persepolis Anticipation Questions. You MUST answer every question. Saying “this does not apply to me” is not going to work! Please stretch your brain. You can always think of a time that it applied to someone you know, or use narrative writing  I will never know, but the purpose of this assignment is to help you consider the themes of the story. Turn in your completed work. It is a grade.
