Presentation transcript:

5th Grade: Coding and programming Standards: Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information. Computer programming skills, practice concision, planning and organization skills. EQ: Can you create code to move a character? Can you create code that will play back as a video? Resource: www.tynker.com Materials: laptops or ipads, Tynker app for ipads Lesson: Students will collaborate to generate original code. Criteria: Collaborate with a partner to generate code Create a character that will talk or laugh and move in front of a chosen background or setting Present your program to your partner Differentiation: Step by step instructions on the board Students can work independently

4th grade: Seesaw Standard(s): Mathematical concepts, Geometry, Measurement, Digital journaling MGSE4.MD.3 (Perimeter w/rectangles) MGSE4.MD.3 (Area w/rectangles) EQ: Can you determine the area and perimeter of various objects? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… Resources: www.seesaw.com Materials: I-pads, rulers, meter sticks, yard sticks Lesson: Students will collaborate to determine the area and perimeter of various objects and verbally explain their understanding via the SeeSaw app. Criteria: Collaborate with your partner to evaluate and measure at least 4 different objects around the classroom Determine the area and perimeter of all 4 objects 1.Open Seesaw 2.Tap the add + 3.Take a photo 4.Use the draw tool 5.Tap the mic and explain (Rec) 6.Add to your SeeSaw journal Differentiation: Students can work independently Step by step instructions on the board

3rd grade: i-motion and habitats Criteria: Collaborate with a partner to create and I-motion video of various habitats. Build animals and plants with blocks Utilize pictures from books as backgrounds for your video Use i-motion app on an i-pad to create your video Differentiation: Step by step instructions on the board Students can work independently Standards: S3L1. Obtain, evaluate, & communicate information about the similarities & differences between plants, animals, & habitats found within geographic regions (Blue Ridge Mtns., Piedmont, Coastal Plains, valley & Ridge, and Appalachian Plateau) of Georgia. Digital Technology Skills. EQ: Can you identify various habitats and the animals and plants within that habitat? Can you create an i-motion video of various habitats? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p15IrEuhYmo Materials: I-pads, picture books of habitats, ID Blocks to build animals, plants, trees, etc. Lesson: Students will collaborate to create and I- motion video of various habitats.

2nd Grade: seesaw Criteria: Collaborate with your partner to generate 3 addition expressions and 3 subtraction expressions utilizing pattern blocks. Standard(s): MGSE2.NBT.7 (Add and subtract within 20) and digital technology skills. EQ: Can you create and solve multiple mathematical expressions and post your results to SeeSaw? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… Resources: www.seesaw.com Materials: I-pads, pattern blocks Lesson: Students will collaborate to generate addition and subtraction expressions with pattern blocks. Students will collaborate to post their mathematical results to their SeeSaw journal. Differentiation: Students can work independently Step by step instructions on the board

1st grade: sound and good vibrations Standard(s): S1P1. Obtain, evaluate, & investigate sound.   EQ: Can you create sound using given objects? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-xKZKxXuu0 Materials: rubber bands, boxes, bins, cups, combs, plastic and wooden rulers, sound strings Lesson: Students will collaborate to generate and investigate sound using given objects. Criteria: Collaborate with your partner to create sound using the objects at your table Write your observations on your data sheet Investigate other objects and the sounds they produce Differentiation: Step by step instructions on the board Students can work independently

Kindergarten: sink or float Standards: SKP1. Students will describe objects in terms of the materials they are made of and their physical properties. Observe and experience several physical properties of objects to better understand and differentiate matter.  Sort by color, size, shape, and other physical properties.  EQ: Can you describe objects based on their physical properties? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQuW8G2QV_Q Materials: bins with water, paper towels, pennies, toothpicks, rubber bands, cotton balls, pencils, crayons, recording sheet Lesson: Students will observe, describe, and investigate the physical properties of various objects. Criteria: Collaborate with your table group to determine which objects sink or float Dry off each object when it’s removed from the water Record your observation on the recording sheet Differentiation: Students can work independently Step by step instructions on the board
