Workshop on the INSPIRE registry and registers Anders Foureaux Swedish EPA Environmental Informations Systems Unit Research and Assessment Department

Registry developments and plans Involved organisations / governance The Swedish EPA, National Land Survey of Sweden The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management Data hosts County Administrative Boards (21) Scope Different directives like INSPIRE, WFD, IED, …etc. NSDI Cross-sector Content Which registers are (planned to be) included? –Not decided yet.

Technical overview Technologies / software used Today, different Software Licence Access & re-use conditions ? Standards used Formats and APIs supported

Connecting registries Easy to link to other registers. RDF? Not yet. Existing connections to other registries One example- Search for Monoporeia https://www.dyntaxa.se/Taxon/Info/233408?changeRoot=True Result, a GUID based on Life Science IDentifiers (LSIDs) Requirements for connections to the INSPIRE registry? Exchange formats: - Architecture: As simple as possible Governance: Shall be done by those who has the best knowledge about the content How should extensions be represented? -

Future development of INSPIRE registry How are you using / planning to use the INSPIRE registry (software or service)? No decisions are made yet, but hopefully “...to ensure that all relevant code lists, terms and concepts are stored, made available and maintained at the most appropriate level;” Applications: No decisions are made yet Which additional features would you like to see? Which additional content would you like to see?

Pointers and additional information The registry shall act as “look-up source” for any webservice in different softwares, like FME for example. Our FME checks if the station is in the station registry or not. We want more! http://inspire.jrc.ec. europa.eu/events/co nferences/inspire_20 13/schedule/submiss ions/185.pdf
