Reference Sources

Almanac A book published each year that contains weather forecasts, tide tables, dates of moon phases and other astronomical information, sports data, and other facts and statistical information.

Atlas A book containing maps and other geographical information.

Dictionary A book listing words, how they are pronounced, and what they mean.

Thesaurus A book that lists the synonyms and antonyms of words.

Encyclopedia A set of books with articles containing information on a wide range of topics.

Telephone Book A book that lists the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the people and businesses in an area.

Internet Using the World Wide Web with its many sites to find information has become a valuable reference source for us. Many reference sources can be found there.
