The Compound-Complex Sentence (CCX)

Compound-Complex A compound-complex sentence contains TWO or more independent clauses and at least ONE subordinate clause.

Compound-Complex Basically a compound complex sentence is a combination of a compound sentence and a complex sentence. Compound-Complex sentences will have a coordinating conjunction AND a subordinating conjunction.

EXAMPLES The band began to play, and Clarissa was pulled onto the floor for a dance that was starting. Whenever we go on vacation, our neighbors mow our yard, and they collect our mail.
