New European standard for lifting platforms with enclosed lift-ways. CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, was founded in 1961 by the national standards bodies in the European Economic Community and EFTA countries. CEN is contributing to the objectives of the European Union and European Economic Area with voluntary technical standards which promote free trade, the safety of workers and consumers. The working group CEN/TC10/WG8 has completed a new European safety standard for lifting platforms with enclosed lift- ways, EN 81-41. The standard has been published and may be used by manufacturers to show compliance with the relevant Essential Health and Safety Requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
