Culturally Relevant ♦ Contextual ♦ Student Engagement Cynthia Hewitt, Ph.D. Morehouse University, Department of Sociology Richard Schultebrandt Gragg, Ph.D., Florida A&M University, School of the Environment Sustainability – Environmental Justice – Health Disparities – Community Based Participatory Action – Public Policy Food as the Foundation for Sustainable Communities: positions students to have engaging conversations about the social, economic and environmental relationships between food, food producers, and health outcomes. Lead in the Environment: integrates multiple disciplines to inform solutions to the ongoing burden of childhood lead poisoning.
