Heckenkemper Leader in Transplant Leadership Award Start thinking about who you want to nominate! Overall Criteria • Leadership role in Transplant with a minimum of 5 years experience • Manager level or above at a single or multi-organ program/center • Majority of professional time dedicated to transplant administration Call for nominations release – Aug./Sept. 2017 Deadline to submit nominations – Nov. 2017

2016 UNOS Staffing Survey Released: February 8, 2017 Closed: May 31, 2017 **please note change in deadline Only programs completing the survey can see benchmarking data results Results available at https://portal.unos.org Updated help documentation and FAQ available 2016 Updates Annual updates Improved definitions Every year we invite transplant centers to participate in a staffing survey. This helps administrators determine optimal staffing levels—both nursing and ancillary—given the size and unique characteristics of their transplant center. The survey’s primary focus is to get a sense of the size and scope of each transplant program and also identifies the type of personnel working there, as well as how many staff serve in each role. In return, we provide benchmarking data only to those programs that submit their completed form. We plan to release the 2016 Staffing Survey in February 2017 and programs have until May 31st to complete it. The TAC UNOS Staffing Survey workgroup updated the help documentation slides and FAQ documents for members to use when completing the survey. Other updates include the standard annual updates and improved definitions of certain FTEs and other items. You will be able to access the survey on the UNetSM Transplant Administrators site. Contact the UNet Helpdesk at 1-800-978-4334 or unethelpdesk@unos.org if you need access.

2016 UNOS Staffing Survey – Record High Participation Rate! Administrators were able to submit results for the 2016 staffing survey until May 31st. Response to the 2016 survey was the highest in the history of the survey. Responses ranged from 66% of kidney programs to 74% of lung programs, just shy of the goal of 75% participation. The Committee will continue to aggressively promote the Survey.

2016 Staffing Survey Response by Region This is the survey response broken out by region.  Rates range from a low of 33% of lung programs to a high of 100% of lung, heart and liver programs.

UNOS Request For Information (RFI) 2017 UNOS RFI released January 31, 2017: https://portal.unos.org Closes when 2018 RFI is released Contact payers for deadlines 2017 Updates Annual updates Corrected several programming issues Removed Living Donor Experience question The UNOS Request for Information (RFI) documents were released to transplant hospitals so that they could submit essential organ transplant program data to insurance and managed care companies. UNOS releases its 2017 transplant center RFI on Jan. 31st.  Transplant administrators can complete the forms until the 2018 RFI is released in late January 2018, but please contact your center’s payers for their specific deadlines.   Transplant administrators should work with the person who is responsible for completing their center’s RFI, as they may need assistance with transplant terminology and information requirements. The RFI is available on the UNetSM transplant administrators’ website (https://portal.unos.org/).  Review your center’s data tables at srtr.org before completing the RFI. (Note: If you have questions about SRTR data, please contact SRTR at srtr@srtr.org). The 2017 update includes the standard annual updates to the form, correction of several programming issues, and removal of the living donor experience question (as this information is available in the SRTR public reports). Contact the UNet Help Desk with questions or to obtain access.
