3D Visual Concept of Irma Vep Light Design Armin Dolbashian New York City College of Technology Introduction My goal is to put together a light design and translate it into a 3D visual software and exploit the benefits of previewing a set of light cues This will be considered my first attempt at programming a pre visualization concept for a cue by cue set. The outcome of this project will determine the usefulness of GrandMA 3D. In hopes of becoming a pro lighting designer I would like to gain skill with GrandMA 3D do a lighting pre visualization concept for an existing play of choice and recreate my own lighting show for that performance. This project will allow me to practice patching, programming and learning how to navigate the interface of the GrandMA 3D visual program and learn its features. Conclusions Given the right circumstances using a 3D program like GrandMA 3D is ideal for viewing a show’s light design. It provides the convenience of building and previewing light cues without having to enter a theater and booting up a console. From the experience I’ve gained through this project I’m more comfortable with the usage of GrandMA 3D and confident with it’s design abilities.
