2.009 Final Presentation Team Yellow December 10, 2007 ‘Let me ask you all a question. Raise your hand if you think you could use less water in the shower?’ How many of you make a conscious effort to conserve water while showering? The desire to save water is evident, yet many people do not act on that desire. Many people feel the sacrifice of comfort and convenience is not worth the environmental savings. Over the last semester our goal has been to help household consumers conserve energy, water, and to make the shower experience more enjoyable by capitalizing on normal showering habits, . The intellishower is a integrated system that saves water and energy as you take a regular shower. Team Yellow

Conservation Average shower intelliShower Savings 20-50 gallons 2.5 gallons/shower 300 kWh/year In recent years the world has seen a huge scarcity of water, and Americans use much more than anyone else. We are now seeing the issues with this, as evidence by the major water shortages in the Southeast. While the average Sub-Saharan African uses less than 50 gallons/day, the average American uses nearly that much in just their shower. Our shower system helps to save some of that--2.5 gallons/shower with conservative estimates. Which translates to over 500 gallons of water/person/year In electric heating of the water, this is over 10 MJ per shower. Total electricity and water savings gives us over $125 in savings per year, per person! Team Yellow
