Joe Trefilek Jeff Kubascik Paul Scheffler Matt Rockey Team RAPTORS Remote Avionics Packet Transceiver with Observational Real-Time Sensing Joe Trefilek Jeff Kubascik Paul Scheffler Matt Rockey Safety and Reliability Analysis Presented by Paul Scheffler

Primary Ethical Concerns Misuse of Product Reliability and Safety Using the product to invade another’s privacy Using the product to drop or shoot projectiles Flying into restricted airspace Flying the plane out of sight Loss of Communications results in loss of control This potentially causes property damage or injury Battery capacity limits the flight time, however there no mechanism to monitor battery life Explosion of the Battery 1/14/2019 Team RAPTORS

Solutions To use the product one must have an Amateur Radio Operator’s License To get this license one must have a certain level of technical knowledge With this knowledge comes the responsibility as the control operator of your system We can verify the name and license through the FCC call sign database 1/14/2019 Team RAPTORS

Primary Environmental Concern Improper Disposal of Lithium Polymer Battery Pack Battery Contains Lithium, which is hazardous to humans Potential contamination of the water supply Explosion or combustion of the battery Provide the user with Instructions to Safely dispose of the Battery Inform them of places that will take the battery for free when its life is over, for example RadioShack Provide the user with instructions on how to safely dispose of the battery themselves 1/14/2019 Team RAPTORS
