Op Amps and Voltage Dividers

Intro to Op Amps Read over the document 741 Tutorial (http://www.hamradioindia.com/HRI-THEOR/General/741tutorial.htm) We will implement a simple amplifier circuit utilizing the LM741 Op Amp (Radio Shack # 276-007) The datasheet can be viewed on Course Site To show us how to make our circuit, refer to the youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfkqMWC2KHg The circuit diagram is shown at time 1:26

Why? Sometimes it is necessary to amplify the low voltage output from a sensor such that it can be read by a micro controller With the addition of capacitors an op amp can be used to filter high and low frequencies from a signal

Voltage Dividers Read the article on voltage dividers from Wikipedia on Course Site Voltage dividers are a simple way to lower voltage from a source to a circuit They can also be modified as low pass filters

Experiment Using Z1=Z2=10K and the 5 volt line from your power supply as Vin, construct a voltage divider to output 2.5 volts Use the figure below
