SDO Change/Division Split

SDO Change INTRODUCTION SDO Change case has been introduced to transfer existing account from one SDO / Division/ Circle /Zone/town to another. This comes in picture when new SDO, Division, Circle, Zone is created. This activity is executed on month-end. In case this is happened in between the month for any reason entire MIS gets impacted throughout the month. By Implementing the Automated Meter Data Acquisition System coupled with GIS the utility will not only be able to find out the accurate Technical Losses occurring from Feeder to DT to HT but also find out the reason of such losses. Their can be losses due to sub standard asset quality, pilferage or any other reason but the same can be pin pointed with the MDAS application Accountability and Transparency in the system will increase as exact ownership of the Loss can be identified. In case of dealing with any fault we would be able to pinpoint the exact location where there is a fault and contact the relevant teams who would repair the same By using the Network Analysis tool the Utility would be able to find out which feeders or transformers are being over used and which are under utilized. This would be useful to them for Capacity Planning and Enhancement purposes as they would know where exactly there is excess capacity which can be diverted and wherever there is a need for Capacity Enhancement There would be minimal human interference in the entire metering process thereby reducing chances of mischief All this would definitely lead to Increased Customer Satisfaction. Moreover, even the customer would be able to use many services online such as New Connection or Disconnection Request, Fault Logging and tracking, Bill Payments etc.

Steps to preform activity To perform SDO Change two data format has to be shared from utility. 1. GIS hierarchy format which contains all the feeders and substation details which are going to be part of newly created divisions. Steps to preform activity   3. Based on the GIS hierarchy provided by utility, GIS team does the necessary changes in GIS master data and sends Newly created hierarchy to MDAS and CCB 4. MDAS team consumes the Newly created hierarchy received from GIS team By Implementing the Automated Meter Data Acquisition System coupled with GIS the utility will not only be able to find out the accurate Technical Losses occurring from Feeder to DT to HT but also find out the reason of such losses. Their can be losses due to sub standard asset quality, pilferage or any other reason but the same can be pin pointed with the MDAS application Accountability and Transparency in the system will increase as exact ownership of the Loss can be identified. Steps to preform activity   . 5. Work performed by CCB team. After Getting the required data from utility from defined channel backend team has check the existence of newly created SDO/s in CCB. Checking the schema of the data provided i.e., length of Account ID, Division code, SDO code, book no After resolution of exceptions if any, importing the data into databases tables (Temp). Validating the data through script like account ID’s, old SDO’s & duplicate account ID’s from database. Checking for the account ID whose group id is missing on account char. In case of missing this would be filled through script along with new book no creation. Validating the New Book no from master database and preparing script to create new book no (not exist in master database), new stock location, meter route codes and group id updation. Testing of script result. Execution of the script on production server after getting go-ahead from testing team and approval authority. Import extracted data using WINSCP into staging table on Production. Execution of SDO change batch (CMSDOBAT) on production server which transfer the account to New SDO. Moreover, even the customer would be able to use many services online such as New Connection or Disconnection Request, Fault Logging and tracking, Bill Payments etc.

Exceptions Following cases would not be processed by the SDO change batch New Connection Pending cases (Old and New case) New Connection reject case. Temp disconnection cases. Moreover, even the customer would be able to use many services online such as New Connection or Disconnection Request, Fault Logging and tracking, Bill Payments etc.

Activity to be done to start activity in newly created division All User needs to be transferred from existing division to New division. In case of Cashier new tender ID has to be mapped to start payment collection. New SDO codes has to be mapped to SBM user in order to download SBM billing data and to start door to billing for newly created division. New stock locations has to assigned user who are involved in meter installation activity. Additional rights if required to be given to work on the account id which has been dropped during SDO change batch execution. New billing request has to prepare on the basis of new divisions & SDOs. MRI Folder need to be mapped with newly created divisions. SBM machine should be mapped to new division. This can be done later as this would not going to impact billing.
