The Roaring 20s Change in America 1920 - 1929

Post WWI - A Time of Prosperity 1) After World War I, the U.S. economy soared The average worker’s spending power went up 32% 1930 – 2/3 of American homes had electricity

Ford and Mass Production 2) Henry Ford Automobiles 3) Ford’s Model – T was the first affordable automobile for the American citizen Built with the assembly line Made production faster and cheaper Prices dropped on automobiles 4) 1909 - $850 1924 - $290 By the 1920s, the number of car owners in the U.S. went from 8 million to 26 million
